The opening spray is a clean citrus-spice, with the thyme giving an unexpected herbal hit. Incense definitely steps in to lead the remaining ingredients: Oud, with an anti-septic vibe; a high-class patchouli that's dark and bitter; the crisp lemony-rose presence of geranium gives this a more voluptuous heart; sandalwood is dry woodiness, and vanilla is very subtle to put not so much sweetness as it does a more rounded effect.
This fragrance is CLASSY. I can already envision myself sporting this haute couture scent on an important formal night out, sending the message that I am a man of good tastes and confident to stand among the best of you.
I would classify this as an amber-aromatic-spicy EdP which is not in the same class as a more mossy-oriental amber experience with, say, Tom Ford's Amber Absolute EdP. Privé Ambre Orient feels like it's MEANT to be worn in high-society gatherings, perfectly wearable by either men or women.
Ambre Orient is a smoky scent of vanilla and dark wood aromas of sandalwood and patchouli with thyme, labdanum and amber, spicy cinnamon and pink pepper
